Change Management,in the first anniversary issue of Samvad...

1492 A.D., the discovery of the Americas and its subsequent colonization by the Europeans, that led to the birth of imperialism and a glorious set of events that is now immortalized in the pages of history; 1800 A.D., a massive, sweeping tide of newness that changed the way the world read, wrote and made money: The Industrial Revolution; the last and ongoing event: Globalization. It has been ages of changes that have made the current world a place that our earliest ancestors would clearly find bemusing, making a strong point about the impermanence of things. In such a scenario, the old adage that matter-of-factly states that the only thing that is permanent is change, keeps reaffirming itself with exemplary emphasis. In the age of globalization, when boundaries are on the verge of disappearance, and information is charting out lines of smooth, uninterrupted flow, the word ‘change’ has acquired a whole new meaning. Much of this associates itself with speed: things today are happening at a blinding pace. Hence, this has undoubtedly changed the way business is being done.
